I have a Samsung S6 5.1.1 and the Blue Light is blinking, when Gmail email is received. If this email is read on my computer, my phone is still blinking and show the notification. I don't need this notification, since I have read the mail and the Blue Blinking should stop, when the email is read on my Computer.

    Is that possible?

It's set to blink/notify ASAP when new email is received, but will blink a hour after the email is read on my computer.

Welcome to Android Central! After you've read the email on your computer, is the actual email notification still present in the phone's status bar?

Correct. My phone does not update the email notification automatically and it looks like the email is unread and the blue light is blinking.

I have replaced my iPhone 6 for this Samsung S6 and IOS does this email sync instantly. When I read them email on my computer the email app remove the "1 new email" notification instantly, from the app icon.

I don't what to mark an email read on my phone, when I have read on my computer.

How long are you waiting for the notification to disappear? I think it can sometimes take a minute or two.

Also, on the phone, do you have Restrict Background Data turned on?

Yes, it's activated. I'm waiting hours. Always blue light is on, if emails is received from Gmail. I use the Android mail app and this app is set to receive emails when it arrive to the server. I could try change it to receive every 5-10 min. and see if it will update til notification.

When you say it's activated, I assume you mean Background Data is not restricted, correct?

The issue may be that you're using the stock Email app, which is set to refresh every 15 or 30 minutes by default. If you were to use the actual Gmail app, I believe the notification would clear almost immediately after reading the email on your computer.

    Yes, correct.

I tried with 15 min in the stock app, but same error. The notification never go away, when the stock app is used.

I have removed my mail from the stock app now and replaced the stock app with the Gmail app. Now everything works great :-) The blue light stop immediately, when the mail is read on my computer. I will use the Gmail app for now :-) Thanks!

Great! If you had other email accounts in the stock Email app, you could try using the Gmail app to access them as well, and just disable the stock Email app.
