Why have I lost email connection with my S4?

[AC Question]

A few weeks back I was cleaning up email folders on my S4. I emptied the Recycle Bin and to the best of my knowledge did not change any settings etc. but from this point on have not been able to receive any emails. All incoming and outgoing settings seem ok. Any suggestions?
