I've got a 5.5 inch phone and a 3000 mah battery and it used to last me the day easily with no problems. But recently I've seen a decrease in overall battery life and sometimes the battery likes to drop at a rate of about 10% every minute which is ridiculous it used to just happen at about 15 or 20% but now it is happening at higher percentages. Thus seems to only when I'm using the screen so makes the phone useless for anything other than being at home. Also the battery level jumps around a lot when I turn the phone on and off. Sometimes up and sometimes down. Here's a screenshot of battery usage. This sometimes happens the opposite way while charging. It will charge really slowly according to the battery indicator and then suddenly shoot up really quickly.

Welcome to Android Central! Which brand and model of phone do you have? The sudden dropoff in the battery graph suggests a defective battery (it might be something called a dendrite that formed inside the battery). If the battery is removable, try a new one.

I've got an ecoo eo4 3gb so it might be hard to track down a new battery but i'll have a look. Thanks for the responce. Also how can I stop a dendrite forming again?

This article mentions that cycling at a fast rate might increase the risk: Roots of the Lithium Battery Problem: Berkeley Lab Researchers Find Dendrites Start Below the Surface | Berkeley Lab. However, I don't know if that implicates quick charging, or if it means intense use and battery drain followed quickly by charging, repeated multiple times in a row.

Alright so I should just be a bit more conservative? I found a battery and its only £6 so I should be OK. Thanks for the help
