Why is my facebook not syncing with my contacts even though I have it set up to do so?

until just recently my facebook account and my contacts were syncing. now they are not. don't know why. I checked to make sure under settings and everything appears to be set up. as a matter of fact it is showing sync up to the minute. had a recent update and started using lookout if that helps.

Welcome to Android Central! My understanding is that recent changes to the Facebook API eliminated contact syncing.
