Hey, so I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 that's recently run into some problems. I bought the handset just over a year ago and haven't had this issue till now. Essentially message service isn't working, it takes hours to send or receive messages. I've ruled out the carrier because other people in my household are on the same carrier and haven't had any issue and it's also not the sim card as I have tried my sim in another phone and it works fine. The other issues, like the lag and the battery drain started happening at the same time and I suspect that it's because the phone is constantly working overtime to try and send messages for hours though this is nothing more than a guess.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Welcome to Android Central! I assume you've already rebooted the phone, right? Try wiping the cache partition: http://forums.androidcentral.com/sam...2-s3-tab2.html

Hey, thanks for the reply. I'd tried deleting the cache and it hasn't helped.
I've also tried going through and cleaning out old apps and such I don't use as well as deleting anything installed within a week prior to the issue and the problem appears to be persisting.

You could consider a factory reset, or reinstalling the firmware using Samsung Kies.

Had hoped to avoid a factory reset, but looks like it's inevitable.

Messaging and lag issues seem to have been resolved I can only imagine the other symptoms are fixed too. Thanks very much for you help!
