How do I overcome the problem of my phone rejecting the power cord that came with it

I plug the phone in and I guess a response saying that this is not the original charger even though it is the original charger and that it can ruin my phone and will not charge my phone. What do I do?

Bring it to the carrier and see if their charger for that phone charges your phone. If not, there's a problem in the phone. (It could be just a bad charging port.)
