Wi-fi connection issues in an enterprise environment

We operate Android phones in an Office 365 Enterprise environment and over an in-house secured Wi-Fi network.

When our users change their network passwords, they are prompted on their devices to update their passwords with a "Failed to Connect to ABC" message.

However, we have noticed that user accounts are now locking out because our secured Wi-Fi does not prompt users to update their passwords on their devices. Is this a setting somewhere within the Android device app? Or is it a setting on our Wi-Fi that we can adjust?
