Hi everyone, I have a fiance in Thailand and I want to surprise her and send her a Samsung Galaxy phone for Christmas. She has mobile service now with AIS. So I am wondering if I buy an unlocked Galaxy model over here in the US and send it to her there will she be able to activate and use it on the AIS network without any trouble....? Appreciate any helpful info, thanks.

Welcome to Android Central! You have to make sure the phone supports the network bands that AIS uses. It was a little difficult to find that information on the web, but I think AIS uses Bands 1 (2100 MHz) and 8 (900 MHz) for 3G, and doesn't have 4G LTE support yet (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_UMTS_networks). For the phone, do a Google search for "[exact phone model] bands" to see which bands it supports. GSMArena.com often has that information.
