Volume button feels jammed

[AC Question]

On my note 5 I was just turning the volume down and it started to feel jammed it still works but it takes more pressure to to click then the up volume and it doesn't click like when I put the volume up I can feel a click and can hear a click but when I click the down one you can feel or hear a click
Can I fix this myself how and if not how much would it cost thanks

The phone probably has to be taken apart, the button has to be taken out and cleaned (and the hole in the case has to be cleaned) and it all has to be put back together. If you were familiar with cellphones and had the right tools, it's about a 5 minute job. If not, I wouldn't try it - just taking the phone apart could damage it, and you'd end up with a large repair bill.

If the switch itself is bad, that could mean a hardware replacement (it seems as if a sticky volume down switch isn't a rare complaint on the Note 5).
