Galaxy S5 Receiving Texts With Inverted Question Marks

A

AC Question

After the new update, when my bf sends me a text message, sometimes there will be an inverted question mark at the end. I asked him about it and he showed me that he isn't typing them in there, so they're just showing up.
I've only noticed it with his texts, and we both have Galaxy S5s on AT&T network. It started happening right after the last update.

He showed me the exact texts he sent. No special characters, no emojis or anything. Just a normal text on his end, but on my end there's an inverted question mark at the end.
Also started happening when my sister texts me from her iPhone. I tried Googling this and it seems like this is happening to lots of people using different phones with different cell carriers, but nobody has any answers.
