My Samsung Galaxy Light keeps showing the power screen for a couple seconds and then turning off.

I tried flashing the firmware, wiping the cache, and doing a factory reset. I tried to start in safe mod, but it won't. Don't know what else to do. Really don't want to throw out the phone, as it's only a year old. It's been doing this for two days now.

Have you considered a new battery?

Also, the power switch may be faulty
