    It depends on what you want. The softer the protector, the more easily it scratches, but the more shock it absorbs. The harder it is, the less it scratches, but the easier it breaks if you drop the phone screen-down.

    I prefer a case with a rubber lip around the edge of the screen, so if it falls face down, the rubber takes the shock, the screen doesn't. (I'd recommend an Otterbox, but they don't make one for the Moto. But there are plenty of cases on Amazon for just about any phone that have a lip protruding above the screen. I'd put one of those 3/$5 plastic protectors on it after [or actually before] that. They last a year or two [or more - I have one that's 4 years old and not a scratch on it], you have 3 of them and, if you're still using that phone in 3-6 years, you can spring for another $5.)
