Issue with wifi connection

[AC Question]

I have a Samsung 10.1 Note that I use at work by tethering it to my Samsung cellphone. After a recent cellphone update things started going pear shaped. I didn't notice until I was in an airport lounge and was unable to connect to the free wifi, also I couldn't tether it to my phone. I'm not sure if I should get it repaired or just sell it and buy another. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
