Galaxy S5 USB device not recognized

AC Question

My Windows 10 computer has recently started giving me issues with connecting my Galaxy S5. If I plug it in, I get an error saying that the USB device is not recognized, saying that it has malfunctioned. In the device manager, I see that there is an unknown USB device (Device Descriptor Request Failed), which I would assume is the phone. Oddly, if I reboot my computer, the phone will connect the first time. However, unplugging and replugging it back in will give me the error. When its plugged in and not recognized, I don't see the USB icon on the drop down bar, but the phone still charges.

This issue only started happening within the last month or so. Any feedback or suggestions to try for fixing it would be fantastic. Thanks!
