How to reset the phone to factory reset?

I bought Samsung Galaxy S6 on Craigslist and when I try to go thru the initial setup, it is asking for Google account that was previously synced on this device. I cannot get hold of the seller or the previous owner of the phone. What are my options?

Unfortunately you are out of luck. This is because many nefarious people will claim to have bought the phone when they really stole it, so Google put in this extra safeguard. I know that this doesn't apply to you but unfortunately, you are still stuck with the same safeguards.
