How to update htc At&t locked phones without using at&t network?

I am using a at&t htc desire eye handset with International unlocked version,but my phone is linked with at&t.
I bought this phone in united states.At present I stay in India,and I am unable to update my software because at&t.
Is there any way to update without using at&t sim,because we dont have at&t network available in India.
And 2nd thing I am unable to use my Mobile hotspot,as its linked with at&t.
Kindly help

I don't think there is a way to do so as an OTA update. It needs to detect the SIM card from AT&T, in order to download the update.

I am not aware that you would need att Sim in order to get updates. I had Att M7 awhile back and used it on T-Mobile after unlocked it. I was able to get updates from att back then.

Any WiFi spot you may be able to get OTA I don't know

My Note 5 had an update waiting for it. The device would time out on the update until I put the SIM card in it.
