The stock email on my LG G4 has stopped auto syncing. In order to get new emails I must open it and make it sync. On top of the that all the contacts stored in the Exchange have been deleted from the phone. I have gone in to the settings and the "auto sync" selection is greyed out and can not be selected. I have tried removing the account and re-adding it back to no avail. The email app is the stock one so it doesn't show up in Play Store to be able to delete it and reinstall the app. I have also down loaded a 3rd party app but it wont sync my contacts, but does auto sync email. Any help getting those contacts back would be awesome, if I must I will hard reset the phone, but that's last resort.

Hi, are you following these steps:

    1) settings
    2) Accounts
    3) Google
From here you can choose what Google feature to sync. If a section is grey can you not use the slider to activate it?

Thank you for this, I did that and it has gotten my email to auto sync now, but my contacts still haven't returned to my phone book. Its just odd, I had this same problem on my old LG G2, except my email would completely lock up and the only way to fix it was hard resetting my phone.

UPDATE: all is working now. What you had me do seems to have worked.
