How do you take the back off of a tablet, can you get new batteries for them

I bought 2 tablets last fall, about two weeks ago one either does not charge or hold a charge. Then a few days ago the other started to do the same thing. They are different makes. The one that started doing this first is the one used the most.
Now they don't charge at all.
