Why isn't my data connection working?

[AC Question]

I just got a Cubot X17 cell phone and transferred the SIM card from my old phone. Calls, text and wifi all work fine, but I can't access internet through my data connection. Data icon on pull-down notification menu is on, but still nothing. Any thoughts?

Hi, have you spoken to your service provider? it could be a feature they haven't activated yet or something like that.

Welcome to Android Central! Which carrier? Are you certain your phone is compatible with the carrier's network bands? Also, are you sure the APN settings are correct?
