How do I empty the trash folder in my Samsung Galaxy 6S Edge?

There are more than 6000 emails. I am using a Pop server I select under "More" in the Trash Folder, I select "Delete all" and it looks like it is deleting, but they all still there.

6000 is going to take a while to delete.

What mail app are you using?

Also you might want to sign on to the Web interface on your computer or use a computer program to access your email to delete that many emails.

Thank you. I am using the email app that came with the phone. The emails downloaded from the server to my phone. I have delayed the time for the screen to go to sleep and it actually shows the "Deleting... please wait ' for a long time, and when it stops, it says that all emails have been deleted. But, it is not true. They are all still there. I even restarted the phone, and they are all still there.
