Accidentally deleted Galaxy S6 Active photos and can't root device...

Meant to delete one picture and deleted entire folder. I've tried various software to restore these pictures and I'm having no success. Software suggests that I root the device because the memory is internal but I cannot figure out how to successfully root a SM-G890A. Any ideas?
