Not having an led itself is surprising and bad, but with my previous Moto G from a little distance I could see pop up previews on the lock screen from different email or message apps.
Now all I get is an envelope icon, or two or three, and I have to reach over and wave to check anything has come in at all. (clever though it sounds, the G on 5.1 was way better).
Oh, as soon as I got it I allowed it to update to Android 6.0 after updating the built in apps.
Really disappointed with this feature, or lack of. Surely most people have their inbox loading all the time so I don't see the point of telling me you have another one and another one, but I now have to unlock with the power button (swipe lock) and go extra steps before reading them - where on the G I could swipe the message (and from a named sender) from the lock screen.
Is there a work around?
