Why won't my selfie stick work ?

Okay so i got a selfie stick for christmas and i have a motorola moto g phone and everytime i try to use the selfie stick "okay Google" keeps popping up , can anyone help? Please

Welcome to Android Central! Most selfie sticks require the phone's volume button to be set as the shutter release for the Camera app. Open your Camera app, tap the settings icon, and look for an option to set the Volume button as the shutter release.

Also, if this is the type of stick that plugs into the phone's headphone jack, make sure the plug is all the way in.

Yes it is but when I open up my camera , I have to swipe to get to the settings and I don't see anything saying shuttler release

Does the selfie stick have any instructions? Make sure there aren't any detailed steps there that you're missing.

If the stick doesn't have any instructions (or if they're useless), then try installing a 3rd party camera app that does allow you to set the Volume button as the shutter release. I'm not sure which ones do, but give VSCO and Camera Zoom FX a try.
