Hello! Are you using visual voicemail? If not, call voicemail and make sure it is not indicating that you still have an unheard message. I know you said that you tried everything, but I don't know what that entails, so make sure you reboot your device if you haven't already. If you are using an app, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling. If none of that works, you should check with your carrier and see if they can help. Good luck!

Lisa, my Galaxy S4 started doing the same thing on 1-23-16. The show notifications is grayed out on both the phone app and the voicemail app so I can't uncheck the box and recheck it again. I have cleared the cache on both of those apps and also cleared data on the voicemail app but still no luck. I don't know what will happen if I clear the data on the phone app so I haven't done that. I have also tried force stopping both of those apps and that didn't work either. Today I removed my battery and put it back in. When I restarted my phone, I did a cache wipe and then rebooted but still having the same problem. I have also left myself a voicemail and then called and listened to it and deleted it but that didn't work. I think that pretty well covers everything that has been suggested except for doing a factory reset and I probably will not be doing that. When I press and hold the voicemail notification, it brings up the phone app so I am thinking that is where the problem lies even through my phone is working fine. Not sure what else to do but I am open to suggestions.

If everything else fails and you are still having problems.
Go to a Best Buy and ask the Samsung people there if they could help you.
When I've had problems or my wife calls and is having a problem. I say you know where to go and get help.

Lisa, I solved my problem by dialing my voicemail and going into the settings. I disabled the message reminder and then re-enabled it and the voicemail notification is no longer there. I hope that will work for you!!
