LG G Stylo Incorrect Battery?

So I found an LG G Stylo smashed on the side of the road a few days ago, and decided to fix it up. Took it apart, dried it out, cleaned it, and ordered a replacement screen. An hour ago I swapped the screens out, and gave it some time to charge. At first I had no battery in it, and it complained that the battery was missing, so I put the old one in, and after 20ish minutes, it went from a charging symbol to an animation of a battery without the LG logo with a red X through it, to a battery with an LG logo on it. It has been doing this since then. The battery is the one that came with the phone, and it is an official LG battery. I'm assuming there is a way to bypass this without waiting for the new battery to arrive in 2 weeks. If someone knows whats going on, thatd be great.
