What is this weird round shaped remote button

[AC Question]

It comes and goes as it wants. If I touch it, then it puts a semi-transparent film over the screen and the screen and buttons will respond to swipes, but if I try to touch anything, then it droid becomes unresponsive. I've only found that I have to take the battery out to get the phone to go back to normal mode. I feel as if this is someone that has hacked my phone and waiting to watch me access critical information. Someone please advise.

I just ran across this very same issue yesterday.... It's the Peel Smart Remote application. It's was recently updated yesterday.

To resolve... Go into the application manager, find the app, click Force Stop, then click Disable... Then it will go away...
