the touch screen on my galaxy S6 edge has stopped working?

my phone is still going and the buttons on the sides are still going and it looks normal but the screen doesn't work at all.....I've probably done something stupid by mistake any advice would be greatly appreciated

I'm guessing you can't restart the phone due to the screen not responding to touch. Do this... to restart the phone, press and hold the power button until the phone turns off. It may take over 10 seconds so be patient and keep pressing the power button. After the phone shuts down (screen goes off), you will again need to hold the power button down to restart the phone...pressing longer than you normally would for when you do a normal power up. Hopefully the restart will fix the problem.
