Htc one m9 screen touch not responding, cannot switch off or restart,

[AC Question]

while i was updating the android software on my htc one m9, after optimization i was told to upgrade the software and there was a sign on my phone showing a quick lunch, as i pressed it, the phone was stiff. cannot touch anything, the screen refuses to respond to anyrthing. i was trying to switch it off or to restart it but cannot because the screen is not respondoing. even when call is coming in, cannot pick cos the screen couldnt allow me. pls, what should i do. this thing happens a while ago, still on it now.
please help, anyone

That icon belongs to the Peel remote app, search for it in your app manager and disable it.
