    Have you checked your keyboard options? It may not be on by default on your device. Also, at least with my Swype keyboard, I have to type a word then choose it from the list in order to get it to predict the next word. If you just mean the single word, kinda like you'd be using it as a spell check, that would be in the settings also. Should be something like language & keyboards in your main settings list. You may slap be able to access it by using the keyboard that appears when you have the keyboard up, this is typically how you would change the keyboard if let's say you had one for typing and one for emoji.
