AC Question

I got my Samsung Note 5 about a month ago and its all going fine until today, my friend told, me to download wechat. i downloaded and installed from the play store and that's when the problem has started. My phone keeps glitching on the same page -wechat login page- and keeps refreshing. I can't control it and the home key button wasn't working. I restarted several times but nothing changed. It seems like a virus to me (i got no idea how it might've gotten in)
SOS - please help.

1. Did you install the app from the play store?

2. Have you tried to start in safe mode* and uninstall WeChat?

If you uninstall it and it still doesn't help, install Avast Mobile Security & Antivirus and let it run until it finishes (which will take hours, but the phone shouldn't lag too badly while it's running). Then install Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and let that run until it finishes (also a few hours, depending on how many apps you have installed).

If running those doesn't clear it up, you may have to reflash the ROM. (Don't worry - the only danger in flashing a Samsung device is dying of boredom.)

*Turn the phone off.
Press and hold the Power key.
When 'Samsung Galaxy S5' appears on the screen, release the Power key.
Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key.
Continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.
You should see Safe Mode on the screen. (To get out of safe mode, just restart the phone.)
