Why does my phone get extremely laggy?

I have the Samsung Galaxy S6, and at times it will be extremely laggy, to the point that when trying to type, i might need to wait 5 or more seconds for the keyboard to even show up. It does not just occur with the keyboard, but all of the other apps. I have tried clearing the cache, uninstalling some apps, and even disabling some system apps. I have around 500 mbs of ram free, but I dont know why i still have this lag. Any help is appreciated

Regardless of how well people say android is at managing ram, I've found that restarting the phone always helps. Of course, it only helps if nothing else is mucking up your phone. Lag can be caused by many things... corrupted apps, too many apps, syncing, etc. Best to try starting your phone in Safe Mode to see if it operates without lag. If the lag disappears in Safe Mode, then it's an app causing your problems.
