When I try to download a Google image it always asked me to replace the download.jpg, then the data downloading icon in the upper left hand screen is grey instead of white when the download is finished it asks if you want to open the app if you click Open it will show the gray image error, and it will not appear in the gallery if I restart my phone it will be in the gallery and open normal, it wasn't doing this 3 days ago

Welcome to Android Central! Where are you downloading the Google image from? Are you using Google Image Search on your browser, or within the Google Search app? Oddly, the Google Search app doesn't let you download images in Image Search--you have to use the browser to download.

I'm experiencing a similar issue. When I download an image using chrome, the download icon is grey instead of white, then I'm always asked to choose an app (even though I chose to always use the gallery) when I open the picture from notification panel. The picture doesn't appear in the gallery download folder though. Does anybody know how to fix this extremely irritating bug?
