Why does my data keep turning off?

My dad paid for my brothers and my phone with Metro PCS. My phone keeps turning it's data off out of no where and I end up restarting my phone which deletes everything. The thing is, nothing happens to my brothers phone. I don't know why it's doing this and I don't know how I can fix it. Any suggestions?

Welcome to Android Central! Do you mean that the mobile data (3G/4G) turns off? Which phone do you have? Go to Settings>Data Usage or Settings>Cellular Networks and look for the mobile data toggle switch--is it on? When you say you restart the phone, do you mean you do a factory reset? A simple reboot shouldn't delete anything, but a factory reset will.
