Is it possible to physically upgrade the camera in my smartphone?

i was thinking: with all of the phones that get thrown out, (and my ego that loves to get a little boost from the idea) would it be possible to take the image sensor out of my (this is a moto g 2nd gen) smartphone to replace it with a better one.. but i cant find any info on in, i would like to get a pinout of my image sensor in my phone (again, moto g 2nd gen) so i can try to find a different (better) sensor to replace it.. can i get any help from this? im willing to test it out if i know it wont break my phone.. Thank you!
