It is not blue dots or a blue tint, but nothing but a blue square. The images are still there, just not able to view it. Thanks in advance.

It could be a corrupted thumbnail or photo. I would try to clear cache and app data on the gallery app that you are using.

Also try to access the photos by plugging the phone into the computer?

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Are the photos on Internal Storage or the SD card? If the latter, then file corruption is more likely.

My old phone is a S3. It was placed on a sd card, but I do not know what app to help clear the cache. I just took pictures of our old apartment, I did not use an application. I need the pictures to prove we did not cause damage.

My husband plugged the phone via usb and we only see blue. He even tried turning the phone off three times with the same results.

Go to Settings>Storage, Unmount the card, remove it, then insert it into your computer. Copy the photos to the computer, and see if the computer can see them. Then run chkdsk to look for bad sectors on the card: http://forums.androidcentral.com/amb...d-sd-card.html

Try to copy them to the computer first.

Also, some older Galaxy phones were kind of notorious for SD issues like file corruption. So it might not be the card, but rather problems with the Samsung firmware.

I imported the photos and looked many times, they are still blue. If it is a firmware issue what do I do? I need these pictures to dispute that we cleaned our old place. Thanks.

Try this, maybe? Recover lost photos: how to repair corrupt images | TechRadar

If you can't repair the file, then the images may be unrecoverable. In the future, make sure your important photos and other data are regularly backed up or synced somewhere (e.g., use Google Photos Auto Backup), because SD cards and phone storage are not foolproof.

What if I do not have the money to pay for a system? I need these pictures. If I cannot recover them it is costing me over a thousand dollars.

To pay for what kind of system? Google Photos Auto Backup is free, with unlimited storage if you use the High Quality setting (up to 16 megapixel pics).

If you can't recover the files using the techniques that have mentioned or linked here, I'm not sure what else I can offer. Sorry!

I meant the last link that was put in this thread. I cannot afford the jpeg recovery stuff as we have a tight budget. Like I said this could cost me over a thousand if I cannot fix these pictures.

There are a few freeware programs mentioned there, one that had a 34% recovery rate, so it's worth a try. And the other programs are around $30 to $100, so compare that with the prospect of the $1000 loss that you're mentioning. Check out some of those programs, and see if any of them have a money-back guarantee, or a trial period.

I'd have to say that little money may be worth spending. If it is going to cost you thousands.. That outweighs a software program.
