Which phone would be comparable

Had my Droid Maxx since launch and has been a solid phone. Battery life as decreased as to be expected with the age. Well yesterday it decided to flip out of my lap into the pavement and manage to hit the only piece of gravel and shatter the screen leaving the back button the only one functioning. I have since ordered a replacement screen to fix it. I was thinking that I feel its time for a bit of an upgrade. I would like something that doesn't break the bank on Swappa and has some specs (mainly camera quality) same as or better than the Maxx. Any input on as to what I should get would be appreciated. I was thinking maybe a Nexus 6?

The Nexus 6 would be a fine choice, but you should play around with it first, if you can, since it is pretty big.

I'm was considering doing just that. I'm had thought about the nexus 5 but the camera quality isn't there. I'm think it will try the nexus 6 then, unless anyone else may have suggestions

I think the Nexus 5's camera actually gets a bad rap--I've taken many great pictures with it. The major drawback for the N5 is the weak battery.

Who's your carrier?

If you want smaller than the Nexus 6, you could consider Moto X Play. If you want beefier than that, you could consider the Droid Turbo 2, if on Verizon, or its global version the Moto X Force, if not.

Unfortunately I have since learned that the 5 will not work on Verizon almost bit the bullet and bought one last night

I am on Verizon. I was actually looking into the Turbo since I have been spoiled with the huge battery life. I will look into the X Play and see what it has to offer. I would be fine with a smaller battery as long as I could have a couple extras if the battery was removable. I am a little frustrated with not having the latest and greatest version of android, the Maxx still running Kit Kat with no hopes of an update anytime soon.

What about the Maxx 2? Its cheaper than the Turbo.....

I havent looked into that one just yet, I have a long weekend ahead so I may do some research and include the maxx 2 with my reading

The Maxx 2 is a baby Turbo 2...but at half the price...

The only gripe I have had with all my Motorola phones is they seem to be last to get any updates, which is the reason I was considering a Google phone
