SMSSend.JE on my SD card, can this also send messages to paid for SMS services?

[AC Question]

By scanning my phone with Bitware, I found a trojan horse SMSSEND.JE. Other anti virus programms like AVG didn't find it.
After removing my SD card scanning my phone again, suddenly my phone was clean.
I put back my sd card in another phone and suddenly I could remove this malware with Bitware.

So how quickly does this malware send out those messages? I feel seriously stressed out to find a really high phone bill
