Can't turn off my stock screen lock

When I go to settings and select security option,my settings crash and it says.
I can't change my screen lock nor can I turn it off.It's useless so I downloaded one from google play but my stock one is still active.
Please tell me if there is any way I can turn the stock lock screen off

Hello, welcome to the forums! Which phone do you have? Does the problem persist after restarting the phone? Have you already tried clearing credentials in your security settings?

First try a restart. Then try a system cache via recovery mode.

Do you happen to have any "Wallet" apps installed that requires you to have a lock screen set?
