It suddenly disappeared from the home screen, but the app is still on the phone

Hi, & Welcome to Android Central Forums!

Please tell us what type of phone you have. You should be able to click on your "apps" icon at the bottom of your screen, once in there, find your Camera App icon, then press and hold, and pending on your OS, you should be able to drag back to your home screen.

Hope this helps! Please be sure to register with us, its FREE & EASY!

If the app is in your app drawer, long press it. It should pop up on your homepage. If your homepage has no room, it will install a second homepage, which usually can be accessed by swiping left or right...

I have a problem in my tecno c5..when I click camera I con it writes 'camera doesn't exit'i have tried to restart my phone still problem persist...I also checked on application restriction and all setting but all in vein..pls help.thanks in advance

Welcome to Android Central! Try booting into Safe Mode, which temporarily disables all 3rd party apps. On most Android devices, while powered on, press and hold Power until the Power Off menu appears. Press and hold the Power Off selection until the Safe Mode prompt appears. Tap OK.

If the problem disappears in Safe Mode, then something you installed is causing the problem. You may have to uninstall apps one by one until the problem disappears. If the problem persists in Safe Mode, then it's more likely to be a hardware or firmware problem.

Go into your settings under Home Screen Style and set it to "app drawer" instead of "standard" or vice versa. This sort of resets all of your apps and should make any ones that have disappeared, reappear. It worked for my Honor 6x.. hope this helps!

Hi,
I have a xiaomi redmi 4x phone. Android 6.0.1.
I don't have an built in app drawer.
I can't find drawer app from which I could drag an app to the home screen.
Please help.

If you don't have an App Drawer button, that means every app on the phone will show up somewhere on the homescreen. If you don't see the Camera app anywhere, it might be disabled. Go to Settings>Apps and see if you can find Camera as a Disabled app, and re-enable it.

Same goes with my OPPO A57, the camera icon was accidentally removed, however when searched the app is still present. The only solution i could read was to reset the phone. Please i need help.

Not sure if this thread is still current, but I just had my Camera on Samsung S20 disappear today. Ridiculous! Spent an hour looking into it and finally found a solution. Settings > Home screen > Hide Apps. What a heck is "Hide Apps"? Clicked on it and there was my Camera App among "hidden" ones for no reason. I still don't know how to hide them or what did I do exactly to make my app leave the building. Anyhow, hope this helps someone out there.

This may or may not apply to you but it fixed my issue on Samsung Galaxy S20+

Go to settings, apps, hide apps. There it was and I clicked the - aka delete and that resolved my issue.
