AC Question

I want to locate my phone if it is lost. But I would prefer to have background data enabled if possible to save my data. Is it possible to do both ?

You can locate your phone with Android Device Manager. You will need data to be enabled for more accuracy as wifi is not that effective. I'm not sure what you mean about saving data. If you mean remotely save it, that's not possible

You can use Android Device Manager as mentioned above but, there are limitations to the service.

First, ADM needs to be enabled on your device i.e. grant it administration rights.

Must be turned on and connected to some kind of data source to lock, wipe, or ring the device.

Location services must be on for ADM to pin point device location. Can not remotely enable GPS with ADM. *If you happen to have a Samsung, Find My Mobile, can remotely turn on GPS to find device.
