can i rename albums in the gallery on the LG G4

Can I put Albums in folders on LG G4?

The name of the album is the name of the LAST folder - the one the picture is in. So name the folders whatever you want - just be aware that if you have 2 folders with the same name, but located inside folders of different names, you'll have 2 albums with the same name in Gallery. (Gallery doesn't care - it's just displaying what's in the phone.)
