Does my manufactur warrenty cover software problems?

A

AC Question

Friend has a STREIGHT TALK Galaxy Grand Prime phone.
The software in the phone has almost stopped working,
It has deleted all of the photos
It has deleted most of the settings
Error messages would pop fast and disappear
Most of the time it now has a black screen
Error message " UNFORTUNIATLY ACTIVE APPLICATIONS HAVE STOPED"

Everything has been done to solve this per the manual and nothing has helped.
My question is does the manufacture warranty cover this?

I would appreciate any and all help.
This phone is all of the communication that this lady has.
She is very disabled.

Hi there!

Warranties differ, so its difficult to tell you whether this is covered. We have no way to know if there was "user error" that might have caused it. I would consult with the place of purchase to see what warranties might be still in affect. You could send to samsung, and if its not covered, they'll mail it back to you at not cost, if its not covered. (First hand experience there).

If you feel brave, and want to try Entering Recovery, and Wiping Cache Partition....this might help. Also a Full Factory Reset would probably fix it completely......BUT................THIS WILL DELETE ALL DATA, AND THE PHONE WILL BE AS NEW!!! So, if you possess the ability to back up her phone, then do it. If not, perhaps find someone who can help you out.

Please don't hesitate to contact us again, with any other questions you may have. Please register with our forums too, its free and easy!!
