I have just moved over from an iPhone 6s to a Samsung s7 Edge as my main work phone. While I love the Samsung's hardware, I find the apps to be much more (primitive) in nature. For instance, many of my iPhone weather apps offer animated features, graphs, and additional data (like a moving radar screen). Not so on my Samsung. The iPhone offers great calendar apps like fantastical, and Timepage by Moleskin. The only decent calendar app I can find on Android is Google's own app (which lacks many of the features found in iOS versions). I'm not knocking Android, but I'm just wondering why there seems to be a lack of quality within the OS? I've also noticed that many of the apps in the Google Play store are created by individuals, whereas iOS has more companies creating apps. Like I said before, I much prefer the Samsung hardware (much nicer than the iPhone), I just don't know why the app experience is so lacking.

    Welcome to Android Central.

There are many great Android apps, but I believe that finding them is more the issue, rather than that they don't exist.

I like to read the AC writers Sunday blog, where they do mini reviews of apps that they like. I've found good ones there. I also have found good apps by watching the Android App Arena podcast from TwitTV.

My suggestion is that you join Android Central as a member and provide more details regarding what you like to see in specific apps. I'm sure that someone will be able to help you, especially since we have many members who use both iOS and Android.
