Why do my MP3 audio book files, ripped from CDs, play in the wrong order on S2?

A

AC Question

File names include numbers that display in the right order on screen but when played they do not follow down the playlist. I have tried shuffle repeatedly but cannot get the tracks to play in the right order. Help!

Shuffle means to mix up the order of the songs. You have to turn off shuffle if you want the songs to play in order. Either you're not explaining yourself correctly or I'm misunderstanding what you're trying to do.

The order in which media files are picked up by the media scanner isn't guaranteed to be the order in which they appear in directory listings. About the only way to assure what you want is to use a player with a playlist that you can at least manually edit - then list the file titles in the order you want them played.
