I tried to add ringtones via Zedge, but my Blue Life XL 2 chip Lollipop Android will not accept any other ringtone than the 4 that are pre installed.
I can't copy any mp3 files to the ringtone folder because it is in the Read Only system folder (system/media/ringtones) and I can't mount the folder it with any app to make it RW.
I tried activating the ringtone with ES explorer, but doesn't work either.
I tried to use a media rescan app and add another folder, but that doesn't work either. Lollipop finds the ringtone in the settings but when I choose a ringtone that is not in the original folder it doesn't work and it stops ringing at all. I scanned many forums but cannot find an answer. I am quite happy with this phone, but this ringtone problem really bugs me because I don't like the sounds available.

Try adding ringtones to a folder named Ringtones (note the upper case R), then run a media rescan. I put my Ringtones folder into a folder named mp3, on a different manufacturer's phone, but it may work with yours.
