Galaxy S7 Edge fingerprint scanner no longer working

[AC Question]

I LOVED the fingerprint scanner on my S7 Edge until about five days ago when it stopped recognizing my fingerprints. Does anyone else have this problem?

Things i've tried:
-- deleting and reentering my fingerprints
-- entering my the fingerprint i use most often twice
-- restarting the phone

I read somewhere that this seems to happen when the phone gets overheated, which is consistent with my situation, because my phone was with me on the beach last week (in a plastic bag) and it surely got warm (but it never complained about being overheated).

Any ideas? i LOVE using the scanner rather than a password.

Hi there!

You can try entering recovery and wiping the Cache Partition, see if that helps. If it doesn't then goto Running apps in Application Manager and scroll to FingerPrint. Hit stop....then reboot and see if that helps.

If this doesn't solve your problem, then I would recommend the dreaded Full Factory Reset.
