    Yesterday I updated my phone with the new marshmallow release and now suddenly when I try to open my photo gallery it gives me the error message unfortunately. Does anybody know how to fix this problem?

    How do you do this?

    My gallery was fine after the recent update until just now when I tried to switch to view "albums". Now I can only access it through the camera and am limited with what I can do with the pictures from there. I've tried to clear the cache, force stop, and power cycle. This is on the s7 edge. I've had several problems with this phone - wish I stayed with the note 5.

    I have the same problem and I have cleared the cache for the gallery. It has been happening for over a week I am not able to access my gallery.

    I also have the s7 edge with the same problem and message... Cleared cache. Nothing is working! SD card corruption, maybe? Ugh! Never had this problem with any other of to galaxy's.

    This just happened to me too. I fixed it by going into my applications then the gallery app and I cleared the data not the cache and it let me open up my gallery app again. But only if I didn't have the settings on album. I tried putting it back to albums and it crashed the app again so I left it on time instead for a few days. I just switched it back to albums today and it works fine again!! Hope this helped

    I have this problem too on my S6 Edge. In the Gallery app, does clearing the data remove the pictures? Thx.

    Resetting the gallery cache as stated above did the trick, but it still wouldn't display Album view without crashing. I had to reset the cache the while in Time view, locate the corrupt file and delete it (likely the most recent picture so it should be right at the top). That did the trick.

    I am having this same problem with my LGv20. I don't see the clear cache option in my apps setting, so not sure how to fix it.
