OK, I want to get Android Marshmallow for my LG G3 VS985 (currently using Android 4.4.2) that was on Verizon, but is now using Tracfone as the carrier so I don't get firmware updates sent to my phone. If I go to Settings>About phone>Network then under "Network" it still says "1xRTT : Verizon Wireless" and "LTE : Verizon Wireless." How can I get these firmware updates? I can't really root either because I can't connect to my PC because the charging port is kinda loose. What if I switch SIM cards with my friend who has Verizon (his phone is a Samsung Galaxy Note III) just for a little while to get the update from Verizon, then switch back? Could that work?

Did u try it? Did it work? I have been trying to get Marshmallow on my phone too. The only thing I haven't done is flashed or whatever only because I don't know how & I don't want to mess up my phone. I've tried OTA and the Verizon software upgrade thing but I got nothing. So how did that work for you?
