how do i change a phone to a us celluar that is now a verizon phone galaxey 5

my galaxy 3 bout dead someone gave me a galaxy 5 but has Verizon service on it now

Contact US Cellular, that phone might work on that carrier by just putting in the appropriate-sized SIM card. There's a chance it doesn't have the hardware radio needed to support the carrier though, and there's nothing that can be done about that.
