Outlook app and Aliases

I'm new to Android and am having trouble with my Outlook app.

I have some working aliases but cannot get the app to allow me to send from them.

They work fine on the Web, but are not available when you compose an email.

In the outlook app under advanced settings it says "To send messages from an alias please make sure you have linked the associated email account in the outlook settings"

I don't know what that means!

Here is the end of a conversation I just had with their support. Apparently they only have support for gmail aliases, probably because acompli (the app microsoft acquired and re-branded as their outlook android app) already had the feature before hand. It's really confusing since they have all the pieces in their ui for outlook.com aliases, without the actual feature implemented. Hopefully microsoft gets the situation figured out soon.
